I Think I'm Going to Explode

I take heart never having heard of this actually happening but it pretty much feels like the baby is going to pop right out of my belly. I can feel her rolling around in there and my skin just can't take anymore. I really can't believe that I have another ten weeks of stretching to do. At my last appointment my doctor said I would probably only gain another 6 or 7 pounds total but I see that I have already gained 3 since that appointment 3 weeks ago. I have already gained more than 30 pounds! 30! No really, more than 30 pounds. Everytime she records my weight she asks me if I'm sure I reported correctly. I mean, she saw me when I went for my first appointment. If anything, I think I overestimated.

Basket O' Soap

Our house smells like the health and beauty aisle at Target it's great.

Stunt Baby Part Deux

So I'll be the only kid on the block with a purple stroller :) well blackberry actually. Stunt Baby thoroughly approves.

Baby's Coming Home Bag

Since I woke up at 7, only to find out it was really 6, I entertained myself by using some of the stuff we got to put together baby's coming home bag. Based on my online message board research this is something that many people do... so here's my stab at it. Well evidently I can't add any pictures via blogger today (why does blogger hate me?) so I'll have to add it in later.

Baby Shower

Where to begin... we had a shower yesterday with all of Ben's fam. They relly got me good this time with a surprise.

Ben helped to open the mountains of gifts and everything looked too tiny is his giant man-hands.

Somehow we managed to fit it all in the car.

I did really well right up until the end, Bern saved the gift from my family until last... I think she didn that on purpose.
We had a great time and it was so unexpected. Needless to say, Stunt Baby has been very, very busy.

Stunt Baby

Stunt Baby finally got around to trying the swing... she was indisposed during the original shoot... as she was upstairs trying out the bassinet.

We Are SO Close to Done

All we have left to do now is the trim and the doors and we're totally done. Well except for the murals... but that's ok so long as the walls are done.

Oh My God We Got a Something!

Yay! After one brief trip to Babies R Us to pick up a missing part we have lift off.

It's awesome, I love it but I can't try it cause Ben forbade me to put any of the animals in it :)

Something came!
The chief investigator checks it out...

Hmmm.. something's not quite right..

Linea Negra

So as it happens the cute little line that I had running down the center of my belly is no longer so cute. Over the last week it has gotten much much darker, as the name would suggest. Which is fine, except mine is totally crooked and the top half and bottom half DO NOT line up on either side of my now out-y belly button. I'm trying not to freak out about it but how did this happen? I should sue whoever's responsible for this mess for malpractice.

So here it is, perfectly rotund just in time for Christmas. Oh, did I mention that I was subjected to bellybutton related humiliation last weekend? During a friendly game of catchphrase I was casually reminded by a virtual stranger with a few too many shots of Wild Turkey in him that I was kicking the guy next to me's ass AND that I was doing this in spite of the fact that I have "a totaly outie." I was mortified.

Teenie Gets Her Way... Finally

I've Taught Him Well

So we go to Whole Foods for lunch and while Erin is standing in the sandwhich line I go cruise the cheese. Lo and behold they are carrying cheese curds, I could hardly believe my eyes. So I get back to work and call Ben and share the great news. They weren't cheap but considering that I was on the verge of having some shipped in from Wisconsin, not a bad deal.

I tell him that we were eating them in the car... he's like what by themselves? No poutine? I'm like well no we were in the car. So he demands to know why I had no contingency plan in place in the event that I came accross some cheese curds on my lunch break. I still didn't get it. He was like listen, it's simple. First you do to McDonalds for the fries, then swing by KFC for some brown gravy that should work in a pinch. Voila, poutine on the fly! I really had no response, I was really quite astounded because I think that plan might have actually worked.

29 Weeks... It's Ginormous

My First, But Hopefully Not My Last Project

I can't remember if I posted there here before or not... but hell, I'll just post 'em again instead of checking.

We Did It

We're making progress... we might be able to finish it this weekend.

I just love love love the color.

We Just Bought a Crib!

After much waffling and indecision we managed to pick one and I think we're happy with it... maybe... for now. It's one of those convertible deals, the bed converts into a number of different things and eventually becomes a queen and the changing table becomes a sideboard.

I've only heard bad things about babies r us and their customer service so I went out on a limb and paid a little extra to get it from costco. On the upside it comes with the full sized rails so we won't have to buy them later. I'm very excited....

Teenie My Teenie

I know when I say things like Teenie put herself to bed or teenie was eating chips in bed in front of the television some of you might scoff but seriously this dog has figured out how to do these things... I only wish I had gotten the television in the picture too.

What a Day, Where Do I Start?

1. Found out I'm getting laid off.
2. Missed my train
3. Totally blew a midterm only to get home to watch law and order and successfully argue both sides of a hearsay objection along with the tv... why couldn't I put it down on paper?
4. Got a ridiculous email from some ridiculous people that took up more of my time and attention than it should have.
5. (Here is where it starts to perk up) Got a huge haul of maternity clothes from someone on the SEBalt kids listerv. Not that either of us actually live in Southeast Baltimore but whatever. She had a lot of great stuff for me.

Keep in Mind It's so Early That It's Sill Dark Outside

Me: My pants feel funny
Ben: (Looking at me quizically) Uh...
Me: Where are the pockets?
Ben: (Silent)
Me: Goddamnit they're on backwards aren't they
Ben: (Remaining silent)

With 82 Days to go this doesn't bode well.

Mmmm

I felt really incomplete without posting a picture of something... so here it is, my saturday project.

Update... sorta

Well you all know I like to try to keep this current but not a whole lot has happened over the last week or so. I had my 27 week checkup on Wednesday the baby is doing great... me not so much, but nothing maor to complain about as I feel great. I'll see her again in 4 weeks and then after that I'll start with my two week appointments. Can you believe it's been 28 weeks already?

So far, not a single person has ever tried to touch my belly. That was the first thing people warned me of... the second being unwanted advice from strangers. So far so good but I fear I am becoming unaproachable.

We're starting to get a little nervous because we haven't dont any work in the baby's room and it doesn't look like anything will be happening any time soon. It's starting to look like we may not have time to get things done until December when finals are over and I stop working. I'd rather not cut it so close but looks like there's really no other way. I can't believe how quickly and then again how slowly time is passing.

We took baby to her first concernt last night to see James Blunt. It was a good show but what a strange little elfin man. Because Merriweather is an outdoor venue and I decided I was too hungry and tired to deal with our general admission seats we upgraded and got really good seats really close to the stage and the guy at the box office kicked in some VIP passes so we could use the good bathrooms to boot. It was worth every penny to not have to wait in line for bathrooms. I don't know if I can go back to waiting in line with the huddled masses I wish I'd never tasted luxury :)

That's all I can think of for now...

27 Weeks, What a Long Way We've Come
