Behr Preview

Because This Time I Promised Myself

...that I would take before and after pictures. So we went to HoMe Depot tonight and picked out paint. We think we have a vision now and if I were just slightly more talented I would figure out a way to share it with you online.

I painted some swatches onto the walls to see what they looked like. Needless to say I don't like them and they look nothing like they did on paper before we had them mixed. But I'll give it until tomorrow to see it in the daylight and I'm thinking that with all the red in the bedding as accent that it will probably be ok. If I can figure out how to link to the home depot room preview thingy I'll do that later.

For now, here are the before shots. It will be easier for you who have seen the toom to imagine but basically it's a box with those two shapes cut in (or out) there's the alcove by the window and then the other weird angle accross the room.

So my bookshelves and desk came today. They're half up and we only made a small hole in the plaster trying to mount them. I'll post pictures when they're done if the room is still standing.

Now to dancing with the stars... if all it says in your bio is self-professed queen of pop, does that make you a star? I think not... who is that girl??

Animal Crackers in My Soup

I was thinking I wanted a white crib too but now I'm thinking that the dark wood and bright colors go better together.

As for complaints and not knowing whether it's a boy or a girl, I'm curious to know your guesses. Some of you have already told me and I'm curious to see if the trend continues between people with children and without cause as it stands it's pretty much split down the middle.

Why Buy Diapers When You Can Buy...

I couldn't help myself. I saw it last weekend but wasn't ready to brave the line on opening day at Babies R' Us. Come on how cute is that? Thanks Erin for the cupon!

I decided to change the colors we were going to use for the nursery from all like light yellow and green to something with more primary colors. We picked out new bedding called something like alpahbet soup. If I can find a picture of it online I'll post it later. I think that it will look nice contrasted with the floor and junk. We bought the diaper stacker that goes with the set so we can take it to hope depot and scan it to get a matching paint color.

Happiness v. Anxiety

I think that my happiness and excitement has finally tipped the scales over the anxiety I felt over being pregnant in the beginning. maybe because baby now gives me constant reminders about being on the way.

I have two $5 cupons for Babies R' Us that I think I'll use later today. That is I'll treat myself if I finish my paper in a reasonable amount of time. Any thoughts on what to buy??

23 Weeks

I tried to just pick the best ones and not burden you all with the boring details of our vacation but it was pretty good overall and the resort was nice. The first picture is the view from our room, we were able to get upgraded to ocean view when we checked in, I don't think the room we had originally booked was very nice but who cares?! The rest of the pictures are pretty self explanatory I think. We'll deffinetely be doing this again... and kids stay free!

We're Back

We're back from Mexico, relatively unscathed and had a great time. There was plenty of chips and guacamole and I think that Ben ate his fill of steak for the year... actually, I think we both did.
